If you are into robotics, please consider backing sweep! It's a low-cost spinning LiDAR sensor, an essential component of robotics applications.
When I first bought a Macbook, back in 2012, a lab mate helped me get all set up for research and school work. (Thanks Cameron!) So when a few days ago a friend also switched to a Mac (from Windows and Ubuntu), and expressed some frustration at how things work in OS X, I decided to "pay it forward" and help him out.
I spent last Sunday afternoon at the Ithaca Sciencenter. Stephanie, who volunteers there, had told me so much about it. So naturally, I wanted to check it out. To make a long story short, it was fantastic! I wish I had been exposed to something similar when I was growing up! Here's what I saw.

The Hong Kong saga continues! As I mentioned in the first story of this series, I've broken down my trip into three parts. (If you missed the first one - the robotics conference - click on the leftmost photo below.)
Today's post is all about Ocean Park, a marine mammal park, oceanarium, animal theme park and amusement park in southern Hong Kong island!
As many of you know (from my incessant Facebook posts and tweets), I traveled to Hong Kong! The purpose of my trip was to present a research paper at the International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA 2014), which took place in Hong Kong, from May 31 to June 5.
After the conference, I also spent two days as a tourist! Because I have too many stories (and photos and videos) to talk about, I decided to write three separate blog posts about my Hong Kong trip, as follows:
